Yasuhiro Thomas Ochi peacefully passed from dementia on March 21, lovingly surrounded by family. Born and raised in Japan, Tom immigrated to the US during his mid-20s. He was an engineer at Sonatech for most of his career. Tom and Shelly, his wife of 39 years, raised three children in Santa Barbara: Michael, Jonathan, Elizabeth. He was a brilliantly hard worker who loved to cook, play family games, and volunteer his time for international students and Oceanhills church. Most knew him to be a quiet man of integrity with a quick smile. Tom is survived by Shelly, his sister in Japan (Kazue), three children (Michael, Jonathan, Elizabeth), two daughters-in-law (Ashley, Shayne), four grandsons (Hudson, Harrison, Damien, Holland) and twelve nieces and nephews.
