50 Days of Flow

Last Sunday we launched "50 Days of Flow" with an invitation to pray every day for the next 50 days that the Holy Spirit would work powerfully in our lives. The words on the prayer card we invited everyone to come up to get read:

Set a fire down in my soul
that I can’t contain, and I can’t control.
I want more of You, God!

We are praying every day that God would set a fire inside of us - that He would give us an increased passion for prayer, for reading the Scripture, for serving in ministry, for impacting the lives of others, for becoming the best version of ourselves – more like Jesus. Threaded throughout the New Testament letters we read that the Spirit of God is moving- guiding, directing, empowering, and encouraging... He is always working and flowing in, around, and through your life.

Here are a few ideas to help you get the most out of the next 50 days of your commitment:

-Every day, humbly empty yourself and ask God to fill you to overflowing with His Spirit! God can’t fill us when we are full of ourselves. The Bible says that he opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble.
-Pay attention to who He puts in your life, across your path, how He gives you opportunities to love, listen, and help others.
-Keep a 50 Days of Flow journal and write down all the different ways you experience the Holy Spirit. Following Jesus is a Spirit guided adventure – the transforming work the Spirit of God is unpredictable, unexplainable, and yet undeniable.
-We would love to hear from you in the next 50 days. Send us your stories and experiences with the Holy Spirit - how He is working in you, on you, and through you.

On a personal note, I would like to ask you to pray for me and my daughter, Shannon, this weekend as we travel up to the Santa Cruz area to speak at the Mission Springs Daddy Daughter Conference. Pray with us that the Holy Spirit gives us something to say that is both life-giving and life-changing for all the dads and daughters that come on the weekend. Pray with us that the Holy Spirit would help and heal broken relationships, touch and transform entire families, and that He sets a fire inside these dads and daughters in a significant and supernatural way so that it becomes a turning point in their relationship.

Living in the Flow,
Jon
