You can show up once or every time. A great way to get connected and have fun with others and get a taste of spiritual reflection. Just get on the list by signing up and you will get notified when people are going out!
Small monthly gatherings of women around Santa Barbara to connect and have meaningful conversations about life, faith, and relationships. A place to connect, be free, and be real. Typically 2 hours, 4 questions, 6 women! Inspired by the question “If God is real, then what?”
Share life experiences with other women of any age at Oceanhills.
Meet each other for a walk or at your favorite coffee shop, share a picnic lunch together, take a hike together-- invite someone into life with you. It’s not complicated, share what’s on your heart. Learn from each other. Enjoy each other’s company. You don’t need to know much, God will open the door and lead you into the right conversations. There’s no pressure to become best friends or to keep meeting. It could be a one time meeting or plan to keep meeting together. It’s up to you and what your connection brings.
Mentoring was one of Jesus’ favorite tools for spiritual growth. He invited a few men to do life alongside him. They went and invited other men to do the same. At Oceanhills, mentoring continues to be a key way that men grow as followers of Christ. These partnerships can take many forms - sitting around a fire with a drink in hand, early morning hikes, dinners with a featured guest speaker. The point is, when older men come alongside younger men, God shows up in big ways. Want to be a mentor? Want to find a mentor? It’s time to take the next step.

Race, Class, and the Kingdom of God 101 is a starting point for followers of Jesus who want to live out biblical justice, compassion, and peace in our world today. If you currently serve with Oceanhills or if you’re interested in serving, this course is for you. 1hr/week time commitment for lecture and workbook + 1hr/week for community discussion. This is a safe place to work out your questions about racial justice in a Christ-centered environment.
(For alumni of “RCK 201” only) Race, Class, and the Kingdom of God 201 builds upon the material from “RCK 101” to help inform how we, as Christians, engage with poor and marginalized communities in biblical and equitable ways. Same format and time commitment as RCK 101.
While races and plans continue to shift, the need for clean water has never been more critical. This year, Team World Vision is participating in the PAMOJA 7Day6k, where we will complete a 6K every day for 7 days in a row the week of March 21st-March 27th. 6k is the average distance women and children in the developing world walk for water that is often not safe for drinking. By taking on the Pamoja 7Day6k Marathon and walking through your own in neighborhood in solidarity with these women and children, you can run or walk the full marathon distance split up over a week while you continue fundraising to provide clean water in communities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Who Is My Neighbor?: The 19th Annual Santa Barbara Mission Conference. In the midst of riots, racial tension, and widespread economic uncertainty, we’re gathering virtually with others from Santa Barbara and beyond to ask, “Who is My Neighbor?” Activist and author, Shane Claiborne, and nationally-recognized speaker, Dr. Reggie Williams, headline this year's conference. Breakout sessions on refugee care, immigration, the “Brown Church”, and incarnational ministry will be led by experts in their respective fields.
The Santa Barbara Alliance for Community Transformation (SB ACT) exists to equip the community to lovingly engage the marginalized while actively working for the betterment of their physical, spiritual, emotional, and mental needs. Oceanhills partners with SBACT by serving hot dinner to people experiencing homelessness on the second Thursday of every month, hosting periodic educational workshops on human trafficking, and encouraging individual monetary donations.
PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) Santa Barbara provides a variety of services for our neighbors experiencing homelessness that include employment, outreach, housing navigation, interim housing, and rapid rehousing. Oceanhills partners with PATH by preparing and serving their nightly dinners and hosting an annual holiday gift drive.
Franklin Elemetary School serves children grades K-6th on the Eastside of Santa Barbara. As a neighborhood partner, Oceanhills sends reading volunteers into classrooms for 1hr/week to assist our hardworking teachers! (During COVID, Oceanhills provides lunches for Franklin staff and sends volunteers to remote learning sites around SB.)
Noah’s Anchorage operates programs that provide a continuum of care to underserved at-risk youth, young adults and families experiencing homelessness, neglect, and abuse in the greater Santa Barbara area. Oceanhills provides 100+ gifts each year for families from Noah’s and utilizes expertise from Noah’s staff to navigate the complexities of parenting in today’s world.
Consider this our virtual handshake! Fill out the Connection Card and we will resource you with information, answer questions, and offer you some next steps to take so we can keep getting to know each other!
